LIHE ‘08 – JUNE 1-5, 2008.
In the first five days of June 2008, LIHE held its first international symposium on the island of Aegina in Greece. 28 researchers and practitioners from five continents of the world met to finish the writing of the anthology “Understanding Learning-Centred Higher Education” which had been ignited with the symposium call 8 months earlier. Before the symposium was a phase of double blind chapter proposal reviews – February 2008 – in which 16 chapter proposals were chosen for the anthology. These 16 chapters were reviewed by three peers and the two editors of the anthology – May 2008 – before all authors met at the symposium in June to collaboratively work on finishing the manuscript. Following the symposium itself was a third review phase – June 2008 – where all final chapters were reviewed by the editors and the publisher.
