TRANSFORMING UNIVERSITY TEACHING INTO LEARNING VIA GAMES, SIMULATIONS AND ROLE-PLAYS
Learning in Higher Education, Sydney, Australia. 6th international symposium, November 27-December 1, 2011
SYMPOSIUM REPORT
Authors from USA, South Africa, Holland, England, Finland, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand and Australia got together for four days at the Collaroy Centre north of Sydney to finalise the manuscript for the international anthology “TRANSFORMING UNIVERSITY TEACHING INTO LEARNING VIA GAMES, SIMULATIONS AND ROLE-PLAYS” to be published worldwide by Libri Publishing early 2012. Collaborative writing and editing took place over a series of inspiring academic sessions, which enabled authors to reach their goals of completion in time. The LIHE symposium format itself was under research, as an Australian researcher teamed up with the group to observe the ongoing collaborative processes and interview the authors about their working methods and outcome. We are eagerly awaiting this research report to give us more insight into ways in which we can further improve the LIHE symposium model. Following the success of LIHE’11 Australia we are indeed looking forward to LIHE’12 Europe and LIHE’12 Iceland.
